Escape Codes (Printer Escape Codes) are a series of unprintable characters (usually embedded in strings) that direct the device to perform a certain function. They may modify the document (through PostScript or Printer Control Language) or direct the device to perform finishing functions on the document such as stapling, collating and others, (through Printer Job Language). They are freely available through the Essential Program.
